About OBB
The Orillia Big Band (previously named Orillia's Little Big Band as the band has outgrown it's original name) is under the music direction of Randy Hoover. The band is comprised of a balance of saxophones, trombones, trumpets and rhythm section plus a featured vocalist and instrumental soloists including a flutist. There are 21 members in the group. The Orillia Big Band performs live for ballroom dances with an extensive selection of music for foxtrot, waltz, slow style, swing, polka and tango. Some audience members even enjoy attending in vintage dress. Think of songs like String of Pearls, Georgia, Stardust, In the Mood, Days of Wine and Roses and Moonlight Serenade to put you in the dance spirit. To view more songs, please open the page to Set and Dance list below.
The Orillia Big Band plays concerts and dances around Orillia such as the Rotary Club Aquatheatre, St. James Anglican Church (home of the Maple Leaf Club), Orillia Farmers' Market, Trillium Manor, St. Paul's Event Centre and private special events.

On Saturday, September 10, 2022, the Maple Leaf Club Dance Revival was hosted as a tribute and fundraiser. The event, which sold out, took place at the historic Maple Leaf Club from WWII. Proceeds from the dance benefited the St. James' Anglican Church Community Loonie Lunch program and The Orillia Sharing Place.
Since that event, the Orillia Big Band has become highly sought after. For more information, please refer to the links below.'
